My second novel, mybook.to/ServantsOfNeed was the first for which I intensely embodied a character, and I have never embodied a character as intensely since then. In addition to dropping a significant amount of weight (probably almost ten pounds), my tastes may have permanently changed. The ex didn't like matching underwear and she preferred not to colour coordinate her makeup. Now, I don't really bother with makeup, though I do sometimes paint my nails. When I do, having the same colour for my fingernails and toenails no longer feels right.
